We are grateful to God that after many years of efforts, Omid Cancer Center is ready to serve cancer patients, and one of our long-standing dreams, which was to build a center in honor of the dear people of Iran and the honorable people of Khuzestan, has come close, and we hope that by completing the next phases of this collection, to reach our ultimate goal. At Omid Center, we are able to implement new radiotherapy techniques such as IMRT, SRS, SBRT, with the most modern radiotherapy devices in the world, experienced physics staff and experienced professors.
Considering that one of the most important differences between the new radiotherapy methods and the old methods is in reducing the rate of radiotherapy complications. As a result, in the new methods, we are able to keep the healthy organs of the body away from the radiation as much as possible, and with this measure, the early and late side effects of the radiation will be reduced, which is not possible in the old radiotherapy methods.
One of the benefits of new radiotherapy methods is that in these methods, it is possible to increase the dose of radiotherapy for the tumoral area, and if needed, we can increase the treatment dose, which will reduce the rate of recurrence of the disease and, as a result, the length of the treatment. The life of the patients and hopefully the healing of the patients will increase. Another goal of this center, considering the exclusivity of the devices and equipment of this center, is educational and research cooperation with Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in Ahvaz, which is ongoing and will be expanded in the future.
It is worth mentioning that due to the advanced facilities of this center and the geographical location of Ahvaz city and neighboring countries, there is a possibility of turning this center into a tourist therapy center in the west of the country, which can be a great help to the national economy.
